Ranny is a prominent place in the history of Pentecost
in Kerala. Mannamaruthy is 4 km away in the Erumely route.
Mannamaruthy; the seat of Bethel International Theological
Seminary, established by God for molding a generation for
evangelizing India, is very well-known.
May 19, 2004, was a landmark day for the beginning of a
great work of the Lord. That was the inauguration of BITS.
The vision, God has given in the hearts of Pastor T.T.Thomas
who toiled for centuries in the vineyard of the Lord, his
son Pastor Kurein Thomas and Chamakalayil Pastor Koshy Cherian,
was accomplished on that day.
Inauguration Ceremony
In the meeting presided by Pastor P.V. John, Rev. V.P.Philip,
Principal of BITS extended welcome to the guests and audience.
In his inauguration speech Pastor T.S. Abraham exhorted
about the necessity of evangelization. Pastor K.M.John gave
the main speech. Pastor T.T. Thomas explained the ministry.
Many prominent servants of God conveyed greetings and Pastor
Koshy Cherian extended vote of thanks. Pastors C. A. Varghese
and Rajan Mathew lead in prayer.
Inauguration of the Philanthropic Activities.
On the same day, Raju Abraham MLA inaugurated the Philanthropic
Activities of BITS. Rev Shaji Kumar expounded about philanthropic
activities. Mr. Sunny Thomas, Panchayat Member distributed
educational helps.
Spiritual Conference
Each semester starts with a three-day spiritual conference.
In the first spiritual conference held on June 23-25, 2004,
Pastor Binu George (Ernakulam), Dr. Thomas Mammen (Kottayam)
and Pastor P.C. Cherian (Director, Church Mission Growth)
were exhorted from the word of God.
Evangelism Training Program
On December 4, 2004, Pastor. M.P. Georgekutty, IPC Joint
Secretary and Director of Hospital Ministries of India,
spoke about various venues available for practical evangelization.
North India Mission Training Program
This is a special program for preparing students at BITS
for mission work in North India.
Rev. V.P.Mathai (PTL India) lead classes in the North India
Mission Training held on July 5, 2005.
Seminar
Rev. K.J. Mathew presented the main thesis based on the
subject “The Growth and Influence of Pentecostalism”
in the seminar held on August 19, 2004. He expounded with
historical backing that the Pentecost movement has achieved
remarkable progress and its influence has far reached and
felt in all sectors of the society.
Convention
A convention was held at Thekkamala Sharon ground under
the joint auspices of Bethel International Theological Seminary
and Thekkamala Sharon Fellowship Church
on April 3-5, 2005. Prof.Mathew P.Thomas (Tiruvalla), Pastors.
Thomas Philip Venmony, Joy Thomas Manakkala and Kanam Achem
have spoken in different meetings.
Practical Ministry
At Bethel, there are opportunities for gospel work along
with class room studies. Open Air Meetings and House Visits
are just examples. On December 25, 2005 open air meetings
were held in 14 places.
Missionary Chapel
Missionary Chapel, run by specially invited servants of
God, is a speciality of BITS.
In the missionary chapel held on December 21, 2005 Rev.
Sasi Paul Pillai (Bharat Moksh Samithi, Jabalpur) spoke
from the word of God. This created spiritual burden about
North India in the hearts of the students.
Leadership Training Program
The leadership training program conducted by Rev. V.P.Kuriachan
was very helpful for the students. The classes about different
venues of Christian leadership were helpful in giving new
horizon for the Christian mission work.
Mission Conference
Mission conference was held on May 24-25, 2005. Rev. Ezekiel
Joshua, nicknamed an apostle of India, exhorted that “Not
individual’s kingdom but God’s kingdom should
be built”.
Graduation Service
The first graduation ceremony of BITS was held on May 26,
2005. In the meeting presided by Principal Rev. V.P.Philip,
Pastor K.C. Thomas delivered the graduation message and
Dr. T.P.Abraham gave the mission message. Two students were
sent to the vineyard of the Lord from the ‘training
camp’ of BITS.
Faculty
Faculty consisting of pundits of the word of God and experienced
gurus are the assets of BITS. The second year classes were
begun on May 30, 2005. Sixteen dedicated young men from
different districts of Kerala are studying the word of God.
Boarding and Studies
BITS is offering fully free tuition and boarding, and a
campus that sustains a spiritual atmosphere for students
of the word of God. Classes are conducted on the basis of
a structured syllabus.
New Mission Fields
A new mission field has started in Kodumudi, near Chittar
where there was no church of BITS. BITS Student Mohanan
is working at this station.
God has helped BITS, a seminary aimed at the evangelization
of India, thus far. Every ongoing activity of BITS is submitted
in the mighty hands of God.
